What's on
Events are a big deal in the Wye Valley & Vale of Usk. And not just in the summer months. We've developed a year-round calendar to keep you coming in all seasons.
Food. Music. Agriculture. Literature. Visual art. And performance. We've shows and festivals for them all. Such as the so-called 'Glastonbury of food festivals' at Abergavenny. A sustainability award-winning music festival, the Croissant Neuf Summer Party. Monmouth Festival, one of Europe's largest free music events. Llantilio Crossenny Festival, bringing opera to the sticks. And Wales' biggest one day agricultural show.
2010 was the year The Ryder Cup came to The Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, and the City marked the occasion with a year of celebration. 2010 also saw the centenary of the aviator Charles Rolls' death, the inspiration for a Festival of Air based in the Rolls family's home town of Monmouth. And Monmouthshire's first walking festival took place.
Gone but not forgotten; the legacy of all these events is an enthusiasm to keep the momentum going by working together with other events to keep celebrating life in this beautiful corner of Wales.
